Craig has written a very polite review of this book. With respect to opinions expressed by the author he states “readers may find it hard to disagree with him”. As the basic premise of the book is totally flawed, many investors will strongly disagree. When investing in equities, the investor becomes an owner of the business. Dividends are just a transfer to a shareholder of funds that the shareholder already owns. There is no net benefit. The amount received is precisely offset by a decline in the intrinsic value of the investor's investment. Only people with a very limited understanding of equity investing consider dividends when making investments.
