This all makes sense but leaves me with a question: What do you mean by "explain" and "understand"? Sure, a human can "explain" why they made a decision, but you cannot verify that they are giving an accurate explanation. The human mind is the ultimate black box. Are you aiming to hold AI to higher standard than you hold people?
