If one looks at all the people in Washington DC, both parties -- the so-called leadership of the USA were all born before personal computers, before we put a man on the moon, and even the invention of the transistor / integrated circuit.
Technology isn't so much an asset class, as a play on the antiquity of the people who are failing to run the country. Its one thing to have a mix of young and old -- older leaders can add historical context and give advice about how they handled some event back in the day...
... but when 74 year olds are the relative youngsters, its ridiculous to say technology is an asset class.
PS -- Greenspan spent many years trying... and failing miserably... to explain why technology investments weren't causing productivity growth. Being a fossil himself, it probably didn't occur to him to ask why corporate boards of directors were dominated by people way over age 65
