In 1991 the Soviet Union collapsed. It came with a whimper not a bang. The Soviet citizens just realised it wasn't working. We may now be witnessing the collapse of the post-WW2 Western consumer society. First the climate change people pounded us with the story that life on earth would end in 2050. Then on top of that we built fear with the Covid-19 epidemic (epidemic?... 0.01% of the global population gas died from Covid). Governments are flooding the economies with money, but only the rich are getting richer. Western society may not be working in the eyes of it citizens. Will it collapse?
