I am not sure it is a pyramid scheme because the proper of a pyramid scheme is that you don't know it is a pyramid scheme (and usually supported by physical and/or financial assets). My biggest problem with bitcoin is that I see many reasons for downside and not that much (I mean zero) for upside.
