A good year or two means “Happy days are here again”; a good decade means they’re here forever. A “black swan event” preceding an actual bear market of substance will expose massive flaws in the whole system that will require more than mere “restructuring”. The private side is even worse and may actually have to be replaced by a “guaranteed income” of some sort.
