I enjoyed reading this article very much. That said, I completely disagree with the lion's share of it. I get a sense that Dr. Kahneman speaks from an echo chamber. In my view, he relegates everyone to the same worldview background. I spent 7 years of my life homeless and have a completely different view of risk and regret. If I were to invest a large sum of money on an investment and lost a considerable amount, my reaction would simply be, "Oh well, I took a shot." I believe his logic is sound, but only for a select group.
