I have an MBA in Finance from a top school. During one of my best classes on ethics my professor mentioned the ill effects of oil on corruption in developing economies. He said “Oil seems to be very corrupting”, sorry but after all the malfeasance, fraud, and theft over the last decade, isn’t finance and healthcare also corrupting? The issue is not oil or finance or any other industry- it is the people operating it. WE ARE CORRUPT as human beings. We have ethical malleability. We require a plan/system to act as a safeguard/counterweight to protect society(ourselves) from this flaw we as humanity have.
