Hey Paul, you really hit the nail on the head with the open office concept. I used to work in a large open office with 75 people and I could hardly get anything done. People would have loud standing meetings instead of getting meeting rooms because they were "collaborating" or wanted to be seen "being busy." I was considered anti-social just because I wore headphones all day to concentrate while working on spreadsheets.
Also, you are equally right about the gig economy - I don't think people realize what impact robots and gigging is going to have on their full-time salaried positions within the next 10 years. I mostly see positive articles about the gig economy from tech companies, but I thought you'd like this other one I found that paints a bleak picture for small businesses:
