'Be prepared for journalists more focused on building audiences and careers than getting the story right.'

The question that arises is how journalists can build audiences and careers when and where their story isn't right. Journalist refers to news and news cease to be new as soon as they have been communicated, thus the concern of getting the story right is somehow unending concern therefore, journalists cannot build audiences and careers when what they say is only wrong.

There is a story where someone wanted to hire Chief Editor, she has invited candidates for lunch, one of the candidate has putted salt on the food without even tasted it, at the end she considered due to the type of job, Chief Editor where verification is critical, the candidate in using salt without having verified if the salt on the food was enough displays an aspect of the candidate, thus he is not fit for the job because she want someone who verifies all the information prior to their publication.
