Very interesting post with great sources, however, it does not answer the question on what could happen in our current scenario. We have two possible outcomes, one is for the status quo to remain and the other calls for isolationism (forcing Apple to manufacture everything in the US, tariffs to the Chinese) and barriers to free movement of labor, including deportation of 12M laborers. The latter has had no precedent occurrences in the past.
