Your last four paragraphs succinctly summarize the impact of Brexit - thank you for putting this together.
Being an eternal optimist, and from living there and in Toronto (yes, little England) I am going to stick my neck out and say that I think that the English are a conservative bunch and will vote to stay, as the unknown unknowns (to steal a line from Mr. Rumsfeld) are too risky to contemplate.
They should be glad to get the economic and political migrants.
The US, and to a lesser extent Canada, are shining examples of what immigration can do to revitalize a country's economy, demographics and most importantly taxpayer base.
Apparently my bond market friends agree that the British will stay with the EU.
For all of our sakes, I hope they are right.
