Yes I agree with your comment. I believe the biggest mistake Marchionne did was to spin off Ferrari out of the FCA group, yes he did make a lot of cash from the spin off temporally but in the long term FCA will have no profit out of Ferrari and it spoiled the image Fiat and Ferrari had together. I personally believe he must get rid of the disaster Chrysler is, bring Ferrari back in the group and keep Jeep and finally improve the whole image of Fiat by making better and more reliable cars. He seems to got it right with up to a point with Alfa romeo and Maserati thought. Also the Fiat 124 spider is based on the Mazda mx-5 platform but the engine is entirely Fiat not Mazda, however couldn't at least make the interior a little better more Italian rather than a nearly direct copy of the mx-5. This move shows exactly what they did with the Ferrari spin off they seek a way to make cash fast by taking something that it has value and sell it or take something ready change it a little bit and that's it ready on sale. This are fast solutions that they bring some profit fast but in the long term they are bad moves for the whole group.
