I love the comment about trust being the dark matter of the galaxy holding it together. Another interesting insight from astronomy is that "galactic spinning" -- the primary evidence for dark matter -- was demonstrated by Vera Rubin in her Masters thesis in 1951. It went against the received wisdom of the Big Bang, and was not well-received. After all, *she* wasnt' part of the club, and didn't even have a doctorate!

What novel financial theories account for the spontaneous order of markets, and the universal acceptance of fractional reserve banking? Is there an under-appreciated hypothesis waiting to explain how our financial galaxy revolves around the Central Bank? Or is the Fed just a black hole of unaccountable cronyism and corruption, which doesn't even allow light to escape?
