I plan to read his books as he seems to be extremely well informed and savvy about the oil industry. I worked with a leading oil company and I have no doubt of his expertise. Like you, I don't know whether he is a bear or a bull; or why, but he was right; which proves at least half his credentials. That's a hell of a lot more than most so called oil experts did; including top oil companies management or financial industry oil investment gurus who were not only taken by surprise, but wrong about their predictions.
You need not read his books, and run the risk of staying ignorant.
