You are close : ) I would characterize the four main models I outlined on a continuum as:

LEFT BRAIN/ANALYTICAL on the left side of the contiuum

Mechanical
Evolutionary
Adaptive
Ecosystem

RIGHT BRAIN/CREATIVE on the right side of the continuum

In other words, I think the evolutionary model is still mostly left-brained. Yes, discernment is the ability to choose which model for which problem you are trying to solve.
