Yes, GRIT is definitely a part of what it takes to "get your foot in the door" and what it takes to ultimately ensure that the door is taken off of its hinges once you land your position. I treated the entire activity as the hardest thing I would ever do in my life and mentally compared it to fighting a war for my home; defeating cancer; and giving birth. My mindset ensured that I kept pushing until a coveted role was mine.
