Thanks for visiting our blog and adding to the discussion. I haven't come across any studies of the relative merits of family control by business sector. Management's familiarity with a business is certainly one of many attributes necessary for success. At the same time, however, evidence suggests that reserving management positions as an exclusive privilege of founding family members has many drawbacks.
