Whistleblowers and team players, in my opinion, are one in the same when it comes to the overall idea of doing what is best for the company and their goals. However, there is a clear difference in the two when it comes to whether or not their actions are considered right or wrong. Team players, whether or not they realize it is wrong or not, are likely to work in the best interests of the company even though it is not the right thing to do. However, whistleblowers, which may very well be a team player themselves, are one to stand up for what is right and call out the wrongdoing of the company. This does not always mean that a whistleblower is keeping the company away from their goals, but they wish to do it in an ethical way.
