Comment Letter to IOSCO Consultation Report on Suitability Requirements with Respect to the Distribution of Complex Financial Products

CFA Institute agrees with IOSCO’s proposed Principles for Suitability Requirements with respect to the Distribution of Complex Financial Products. Disclosure and strict enforcement are essential, but strong investor protection in relation to selling rules must also be provided. CFA Institute also considers that such minimum requirements should also apply to the distribution of all financial products to retail clients.
