The Economics of Biodiversity

  1. Partha Dasgupta
  2. Roger Gifford
  3. Tomi Nummela

Unprecedented levels of biodiversity loss globally are placing our livelihoods and economies at risk. Last year, the UK Treasury commissioned Professor Sir Partha Dasgupta, Emeritus Professor of Economics at the University of Cambridge, to lead a global, independent Review on the Economics of Biodiversity. The Review is exploring the sustainability of our engagements with nature: what we take from it, how we transform what we take from and return to it, and why we have disrupted nature’s processes. Join Professor Dasgupta and Sir Roger Gifford, a member of the Review’s Advisory Panel and chairman of the Green Finance Institute, to discuss the Review’s emerging findings and explore how economic actors can better take account of nature in their decision-making to protect and enhance biodiversity and economic prosperity.
