Biography
Thomas Smith, CFA, is a senior finance professional in the technology sector whose work spans from PE/VC-backed growth companies ($50M+ revenue) to mega-cap public tech ($1T+ market cap). His prior institutional asset management work included developing portfolio models for endowments, pooled funds, defined benefit plans, and deferred compensation plans with individual plan AUM up to $24B, using mean-variance, Monte Carlo, and CVaR frameworks within IPS governance. He also conducted due diligence on portfolio managers for up to $2.6B in private equity and real-asset allocations. His research centers on financial engineering, real estate market structure, strategic finance, and implementing AI-native rather than AI-adopting architectures.
