Julia   Cherashore

Biography

Julia Cherashore is an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, an advisor to AI startups, and a recognized thought leader and speaker on artificial intelligence and data. With more than 20 years of experience in financial services, she has held senior data leadership roles at Morgan Stanley, Visa, and the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYS DFS).

At NYS DFS, she served in the inaugural role of Chief Data Officer (Deputy Superintendent for Data Governance and Management), where she led data strategy and governance initiatives and was recognized with a “Best of New York” Award for Best Workplace Initiative. Previously, she spent two decades at leading investment banks and financial services firms, including Goldman Sachs & Co., PwC, and Moody’s.

She is a frequent speaker at leading industry conferences, including Reuters Momentum AI, SuperReturn, CDO Vision, Corinium Intelligence, CDOIQ Symposium, and GovTech. She is also a Senior Fellow at the Data Foundation, where she has published blogs on AI and data. She holds an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and dual undergraduate degrees in Music and Business Administration from Weber State University.
