Herman Bril is Executive Director Investments and a member of the Board at ABP, the Dutch pension fund for the government and education sectors. 

He holds a Master of Economics from the Free University in the Netherlands, a Consulting and Coaching for Change qualification from INSEAD France, and a Master of Studies in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge. 

Before joining ABP, he was Managing Director and Head of Sustainability and Climate Innovation at the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments); Chief Investment Officer at the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund in New York; and Group CFO and COO at Cardano Risk Management (now part of Mercer).

He is co-editor of two books: Sustainable Investing: A Path to a New Horizon (Routledge, 2021) and Sustainability, Technology, and Finance: Rethinking How Markets Integrate ESG (Routledge, 2023).
