Brad McCann is an MSc Artificial Intelligence student at Lancaster University, working across AI, financial document analysis, synthetic data generation, and data engineering. He holds a BSc in Marketing and is currently pursuing the CFA Level 1 qualification. Brad was a national winner of the CFA Institute AI Investment Challenge 2026, taking first place in the competition. As part of the winning project, he co-developed the Disclosure Degradation Detection System, an NLP architecture to identify deterioration in the quality of corporate financial disclosures.
