IOSCO World Investor Week
The IOSCO World Investor Week (WIW) 2024 is a global initiative to raise awareness about investor education and protection. Organizations from more than 100 jurisdictions will come together to drive awareness around trending issues that impact investors around the world. WIW’s purpose is to promote financial literacy, safeguard investors, and foster learning opportunities. This year, the campaign highlights three key themes: technology and digital finance, cryptoassets, and sustainable finance.
CFA Institute and local societies worldwide have long supported this campaign through research and advocacy. We help investors navigate market challenges and advocate for fair, transparent markets. CFA Institute Research and Policy Center provides resources for regulators, investors, and market participants to make informed decisions on emerging trends, such as artificial intelligence, big data, and sustainable investing. Such topics as climate risk, biodiversity, and ESG investments are central to our research as part of our commitment to providing investment professionals with tools and resources for understanding, measuring, and managing sustainability-related risks and opportunities; meeting client demands; and complying with regulatory requirements.

- CFA Society Portugal is hosting, in partnership with Banco de Portugal, a workshop to promote the “My Financial Future” competition. The event will take place at the University of Coimbra on October 11th at 11 a.m. Banco de Portugal will discuss credits, and CFA Society Portugal will cover investments.
- CFA Society Taiwan is hosting World Investor Week events from October 7th to 9th.
- CFA Society Hong Kong is hosting a World Investor Week event on October 8th.
